A property along the Clinton River experienced significant erosion, losing nearly 800 square feet of riverbank. Stabilizing the shoreline and restoring a natural flow path for the river became essential. After extensive excavation and reinforcement work, the site was finally ready for planting.

In collaboration with Rochester Pollinators, we began to dream and design with plants, trees and shrubs. Due to the erosion already beginning, it was essential to stabalize the shoreline. Several planting days changed the initial design and began the work of digging in roots and holding the river bank.

Site Prep: Client called EGLE and Clinton Watershed Council.  At their recommendation extensive excavating, retaining walls, helped to restore the severely eroded river bank.

First Phase:  Upon noticing the erosion already beginning, our team switched plans and rushed to establish plant material along the shoreline.

Second Phase:  Majority of the installation will come to life the end of July 2026.

Follow along as this landscape is transformed through native shoreline restoration, meadow plantings, and ecological design.
