The Garden Thymes

Native Plant Nurseries (South East Michigan)

Is your garden feeling a little outdated or no longer aligned with how you live? Whether the lawn goes unused or you’re craving a more meaningful connection to nature, it may be time for a refresh.

Incorporating native plants is a simple way to bring new life into your space while supporting pollinators, birds, and the surrounding ecosystem. These gardens offer both beauty and purpose—grounded in a true sense of place.

Finding quality native plants can be a challenge, so I’ve begun compiling a list of Southeast Michigan

nurseries to help guide you. If you have a favorite that’s not included, I’d love to hear from you.

No matter the size of your garden, it should reflect you—your style, your energy, and even your favorite colors. With thoughtful design, we can create spaces that are not only beautiful, but functional and ecologically responsible.

Growing trees, shrubs, grasses, wildflowers, and emergent wetland species typical of Michigan woodlands, wetlands and prairies.  Our objective is to propagate nursery stock with enough genetic diversity to create self-sustaining populations.  Therefore the majority of our plants are grown from wild seed stock.  This is what we mean when we say our plants are “borne to be wild”.
